Convert HEIC to PNG for lossless editing
PNG is a lossless format, so converting HEIC to PNG gives you an exact, uncompressed-quality copy of every pixel in the photo. That makes it the best choice when you plan to edit, retouch or composite an iPhone photo in Photoshop, Canva or Figma, where repeated JPG saves would gradually degrade the image.
Each HEIC file is decoded in your browser and written to PNG at its full original resolution. If a HEIC image does contain transparency, it is preserved in the PNG; nothing is flattened onto a background.
Converted in your browser, never uploaded
Every conversion runs inside your browser. Images are read from your device into memory (RAM), decoded, redrawn on an HTML5 canvas and saved straight to your downloads, so personal photos never touch a server, are never stored and cannot be seen by anyone else. There is no upload wait, no file-count limit and no watermark. Converted files keep their full resolution; camera metadata such as GPS location is not copied into the new file.
Frequently asked questions
Do iPhone photos have transparent backgrounds?
Regular camera photos do not; they are fully opaque. PNG is still useful for them because it is lossless. HEIC images that do include an alpha channel keep their transparency when converted here.
Why is the PNG file so large?
PNG stores every pixel without lossy compression, so a 12-megapixel photo can easily be 10–20 MB. Use PNG for editing, then export the finished image as JPG or WebP for sharing.
HEIC to PNG or HEIC to JPG: which is better?
Choose PNG for editing and archiving with no quality loss, and JPG for sharing, uploading and printing, where small files and compatibility matter more.
