How to compress images online without losing visible quality
This bulk image compressor reduces the file size of JPG, PNG and WebP images by re-encoding them at a quality level you control. Photos straight from a phone or camera contain far more data than a website, email or chat app needs; at 75–85% quality the difference is practically invisible, while the file often shrinks by half or more.
You can compress dozens of images at once, convert them all to WebP or JPG, scale down oversized dimensions and rename everything into clean, SEO-friendly file names in the same pass. When the batch is done, download images one by one or get them all in a single ZIP file.
Compress images in 4 steps
- 1Drag your images into the upload area, click to choose files, or paste a screenshot.
- 2Pick a quality level. 80% is a good balance; go lower for the smallest files.
- 3Choose an output format and, if needed, a maximum width or height or a maximum file size.
- 4Click Compress all, then download each image or everything as a ZIP.
Which quality setting should I choose?
- 90–100%: almost no visible change; for portfolios, printing and further editing.
- 75–85%: the best balance for websites, blogs and online stores.
- 60–70%: the smallest files; for email attachments, chat apps and upload forms with strict limits.
Why this image compressor is private
Most online compressors upload your photos to a server, process them there and send them back. This one never uploads them. The compression engine runs inside your browser using background Web Workers: your images are read from your device into memory (RAM), compressed by your own processor and saved straight to your downloads folder. Nothing is stored, and closing the tab clears everything. It also means no upload wait, no daily quota and no server file-size cap.
Frequently asked questions
Does compressing an image reduce its quality?
Lossy formats such as JPG and WebP discard some fine detail, but at 75% quality and above the change is very hard to see. PNG compression is lossless and keeps every pixel; PNG files mainly get smaller when you resize them or convert them to WebP.
How many images can I compress at once?
There is no fixed limit. Because everything runs on your device, the practical limit is your computer or phone memory. Hundreds of normal photos work fine on a laptop; on older phones, work in batches of 20–30.
Is it safe to compress private or confidential photos here?
Yes. Images are processed in your browser and are never uploaded to a server, so nobody else can see, store or reuse them.
Why is a compressed file sometimes not smaller?
Images that are already heavily optimized may not shrink further. When re-encoding in the same format would make a file larger, the tool keeps your original, so you never end up with a bigger file.
