Crop passport and ID photos to 3×4 or 4×6

Document photos need the right shape before anything else. 3×4 cm (a 3:4 ratio) is standard for most application forms, CVs and student cards ("ảnh thẻ 3x4"), while Vietnamese passport applications usually require 4×6 cm (a 2:3 ratio). Cropping to the wrong ratio is a common reason photos are rejected or printed with a stretched face.

Choose 3×4 or 4×6, frame your head and shoulders, then export at the recommended print size: 354×472 px for 3×4 cm or 472×709 px for 4×6 cm, both at 300 DPI. Need a smaller file for an online form? Run the result through the Passport photo preset in our Image Compressor.

How to frame an ID photo

  • Face centered and looking straight at the camera, with the head level; use Rotate if the photo is tilted.
  • Head and the top of the shoulders visible, with a small gap above the head.
  • A plain white or light background, as most forms require.
  • Always check the official requirements of the form you are submitting.

Cropping happens on your device

Your photo is opened directly in your browser and cropped, resized, rotated and exported in local memory. It is never uploaded, so personal photos and ID pictures stay private. At original pixels, the cropped area is copied one-to-one with no resampling, so the result is exactly as sharp as your source photo.

They are different shapes and sizes. 3×4 cm has a 3:4 ratio and is used for forms and cards; 4×6 cm has a 2:3 ratio and is usually required for Vietnamese passports. Choose the one your application asks for.

How many pixels is a 3×4 cm photo?

At 300 DPI, the usual print resolution, 3×4 cm is 354×472 pixels and 4×6 cm is 472×709 pixels.

Can I print the photo at a photo shop?

Yes. Export as a high-quality JPG and ask the shop to print it at the exact size (3×4 or 4×6 cm). Many shops can fit several copies on one 10×15 cm print.

Does this tool change the background?

No, it crops and resizes only. Take your photo in front of a plain white or light background if your application requires one.
