JSON minifier

Strip every space, tab and line break to shrink JSON into one compact line for APIs, configs and storage.

Minify JSON and reduce its size

Minifying JSON removes every space, tab and line break that exists only for readability, producing a single compact line. The data stays identical, but the file becomes smaller, which means lighter API payloads, smaller config bundles and less storage.

Paste formatted JSON and the minified result appears instantly, along with the percentage saved. Copy it, download it as a .min.json file, or load it back into the editor to keep working.

Safe for API keys, tokens and customer data

API responses, config files and database exports often contain access tokens, emails and personal data, and many online formatters send whatever you paste to their servers. This tool runs entirely in your browser: parsing, validation, highlighting and CSV conversion all happen in local memory, and nothing is uploaded or logged. It also handles large files, up to 20 MB, without server-side limits.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller does minified JSON get?

It depends on how much indentation the original has. Deeply nested, pretty-printed JSON often shrinks by a fifth or more; the exact saving is shown as soon as you paste.

Is minified JSON still valid?

Yes. Whitespace between JSON tokens is optional, so the minified version parses to exactly the same data.

Is minifying the same as compression?

No. Minifying removes unnecessary characters, while compression such as gzip or Brotli, usually applied by web servers, encodes the data more efficiently. Using both gives the smallest transfer size.
